Friends-International ThailandTHAILAND

Many children and young people from Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar migrate to Thailand (especially to Bangkok) to look for work. They often end up living on the streets, where they become victims of daily violence and exploitation, or end up in conflict with the law.

Sometimes whole families will move to Thailand, and without official immigration and identity documents, find it impossible to access basic services, especially to health and education.

Friends-International has programs in Thailand to address these issues:

Friends-International Thailand, Peuan Peuan Bangkok

Peuan Peuan in Bangkok: working with over 350 children and youth every month, to provide emergency and long term support services to Thai, Cambodian, Lao and Burmese children and youth and their families.

It is also part of a safe migration network to ensure that information on risks and realities of migration is provided to children, youth and families at departure, transit and arrival points.

Friends-International Thailand, Friends Social Businesses Bangkok   Friends Social Businesses: Supporting vulnerable families to earn an income to support themselves, so that they avoid migrating illegally in search of work.
