Honduras

Phase One Complete!
In July 2005 a group of both Government and NGO participants came to Cambodia to observe the activities of Mith Samlanh, and discuss the principles that guide us all in the work we carry out when working with street children and youth. This was in every sense an “exchange” visit, with all participants working to make it a productive and effective experience for everyone. It was a great success, and we look forward with enthusiasm to phase two in 2006.

  • Links between the teams from Honduras and Mith Samlanh were facilitated successfully by the Friends-International team.
  • Mith Samlanh was presented to the Honduran delegation as an example of best practice when working with street children.
  • Field visits, and power point presentations encouraged in depth discussions.
  • Common principals for working with street children were designed.
  • An atmosphere of trust and collaboration was created between all participants, paving the way for strong partnerships in the future.
