The adventure is on!

Work is progressing well on the latest addition to the TREE Alliance restaurants, ‘Marum’ in Siem Reap, Cambodia. We have had the following update from TREE coordinator Gustav Auer, who is with the team in Siem Reap as work continues on this exciting new project…

Work is well underway on the newest restaurant in the Friends family, Marum. Based in Siem Reap, Marum will open for business in late September. While the team puts the final touches on the food and drink menus there is one item that is yet to be finalised – the Marum signature dish.

The brand new Marum patio area.

While Romdeng is well known for its famous deep fried tarantulas, Marum staff have been busy digging deep into the local markets and studying Khmer snack habits in an effort to find their own signature dish.

Early contenders include snakes, rats, honey bee larvae, silk worm larvae and crispy crickets.

So what will Marum's signature dish be?

Whatever the dish, we’re sure it’ll sit nicely (and deliciously!) in the mouths of all customers…

Renovations continue indoors at Marum.

You can view now make reservations and check our restaurant menus online at our TREE Alliance website. The TREE Alliance is a global alliance of training restaurants working to build futures for former street youth, marginalized young people and adults.
